Stefanos Foundation brings hope to a troubled nation, working for peace and justice
Discover moreUS broadcasting network CBN publicised the plight of Christians in northern Nigeria in a release today. See the full report at
The release follows Mark Lipdo’s visit to the US where he was interviewed by CBN. The report mentions
- the hundreds of Christians hacked to death or burned alive in planned attacks
- the supply of AK47’s to the nomadic people fronting the attacks
- the active involvement of Nigeria’s military forces in the genocide
- the Nigerian Government’s weak response, empty promises to curb the atrocities, and absence of even one prosecution to date at that time
- calls for intervention from several human rights groups
Mark was accompanied in the US by Dr David Carling, a retired doctor who spent many years in Nigeria and now supports Mark in his relief and advocacy work. In the report, Dr Carling comments on
- the militant jihadic desire to bring Islam to the whole of Nigeria
- the strategic role of Nigeria in greater plans to spread Islam throughout Africa
- the need for prayer and financial resources to support victims and advocacy
The report makes clear that whilst we advocate for justice, we are opposed to retaliation or violence, stressing the love and forgiveness which lies at the heart of Christ's message.
Stefanos helps victims of violence as much as funds allow, so check us out and ask whether you might feel able to join us in bringing aid to those caught up in violence in many of Nigeria's troubled Northern states.
